STEM learning is center stage in today's math and science classrooms. As an educator of math and science content to 5th graders, I strive to encourage exploration and concept development through STEM challenges that engage collaboration and problem-solving strategies.
The students that sit before me are inquisitive and creatively dynamic individuals that need opportunities for enrichment.
With interests geared toward science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, my students are eager to design and create solutions to the questions they have about the world.
My Project
The WeDo 2.0 Core set will begin our collection of hands-on engineering resources to promote students' creative design and engineering experiences. My students have a high level of interest in coding and robotics which the Sphero robots and Bloxel resources will support.
STEM-centered educational experiences offer opportunities for teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
My students will benefit from the enrichment activities that these resources provide while developing their STEM skills, increasing their engagement and collaboration. Increased active engagement will impact my students' ability to find success in future STEM-focused tasks.
These resources will be made available to my students in our Maker's Space to offer STEM rich materials to enhance the educational experience of my students.
