Building Socially And Emotionally Ready Students!

My Students

My third grade students are typically very diverse and come from a variety of demographic and cultural backgrounds. Some students have the support of their parents while other students struggle to learn on their own. For some students, learning social and emotional skills comes naturally while others struggle! Our school motto is to "inspire excellence" and that is what I want to accomplish!

What I love about my students is that no matter their diversities they are all willing to learn and do what is expected when given the right tools!

My Project

Character education and social skills education is something that elementary classroom teachers can do to help students succeed in school and in the real world. These social-emotional books will encourage empathy, kindness, and help kids think about grief and anger. It is assumed that students know how to be kind and get along with others but often they do not.

Books such as the Juicebox Bully and Tattle Tongue will help teach students about standing up for one another and knowing when it is okay to problem solve on their own or get an adult.

The books Wilma Jean the Worry Machine, The Way I feel, The Girl who Never Made Mistakes, and The Worst Day of My Life Ever will help students manage their emotions and feelings.
