My Project

I am a speech language pathologist working with students with autism in grades K-5. My students have significant communication challenges. Communication doesn't just happen at a therapy table -- it happens in shared experiences, play and interaction. Many of my students are working on initiating communication, turn taking, building peer-to-peer interactions and improving functional expressive language. They need motivating, interactive materials that make communication feel natural while keeping them engaged.

These materials will serve as tools to support functional communication (requesting, commenting, asking and responding to questions) and social skills (initiating, turn-taking, directing actions of others).

These games will be used across small groups and individual speech/language therapy sessions to help each student build communication skills while having fun. When students are engaged and excited, they are far more willing to communicate.
