I work with a diverse group of students with Autism. They are an excited bunch and so eager to learn! I have students ranging from kindergarten to 5th grade. My students have significant social, communicative and behavioral challenges. While several of my students are verbal communicators, most of them are non-verbal. They use different means of communication including speech generating devices and picture exchange systems. They enjoy listening to stories, music and movement, arts and crafts, sensory activities and following visual recipes to create things. It can be very challenging to work with my students but with the appropriate resources and supports, I am able to target their individualized goals and meet their needs. I am excited to have found this platform to advocate for my little learners and bring my projects to life!
