Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students are experiencing a lot of difficult emotions. Through the use of paints, brushes, markers, and paper my students will be provided a way to express themselves.
Through the use of these supplies we will address the 5th grade Visual Art standard VA:CR1.5.1-Combine ideas to generate an innovative idea for art-making.
In the art classroom we learn that we can express our emotions through creative art projects. For example, when we are angry we can use dark colors, when we are happy we can use bright colors. These projects can provide an escape and an outlet from the difficult emotions that my students are feeling.
Additionally, students are struggling to work together in a social setting. In my classroom, we will use these art supplies to collaborate together on art projects. Students will work together in a cooperative setting to create works of art to display throughout the school.
