My Students
The students we have in our kindergarten classes are full of love, passion for learning and are so creative. They are so very full of life and are eager to ask many questions, explore and learn in any way possible.
Our school has 300 children who come from a wide variety of home lives.
Some people may think that since 100% of our school population receives free breakfast and lunch, we may be struggling or that the family or children are, but together we fight this stigma and work to improve and grow each child to their fullest potential.
This is so easily done, because no matter what, my kindergartners want to come to school each day to share in the rigorous work we do. These sweet students want to learn so many things, even if we don't always have all the resources.
My Project
This project will allow my students to share, wonder and learn about so many amazing animals topics. This is one of their favorite topics, but we are lacking books on these topics. Students will get to practice collaboration, writing, and many other skills that will support them as a whole learner. I want to encourage a love of reading and writing and choosing titles that they enjoy will push them and build the love of reading and writing. This project also asks for sets of writing composition notebooks, white board markers and erasers which will support them during the writing process. Students will work every day in writing workshop and the primary notebooks will allow students to begin drawing, labeling pictures and then writing about their pictures. These are a wonderful tool for students to learn how to write.
