Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I love seeing my students read. Some try so diligently to understand the text. My newcomers struggle the most. The resources from this project will help my students who are new to the States have an easier time learning to read in a new language. I keep a good selection of books, and I want access to them all. Hooked On Phonics is an excellent way to assist struggling readers. It helps them learn reading basics, such as letter recognition, phonemic awareness, and phonics. It also helps to build their fluency and confidence in reading.

I also like to use interactive activities such as word puzzles and games to foster interest in reading.

I also encourage students to read books that are fun and interesting, as this helps them to develop a love of reading.

I also make sure to provide plenty of positive reinforcement, such as rewards for reading or good grades. I also ensure that I have a good support system in place, such as parents, teachers, and peers, to help motivate and encourage students.
