Building Problem Solving Skills With Play And Imagination!
My students need purposeful play items that are fun and educational and will help them learn sight words, build fine motor skills with perler beads, and allow their imaginations to soar.
My students are growing kindergarten students. They are developing a growth mindset by learning to solve problems on their own and welcoming challenges to make their brain grow. They have parents that care about their academic progress and hold their standards high. They live in a small community where education is valued. My students are eager to learn to read. They are emergent readers that are willing to practice their decoding skills both at home and at school.
My kindergarten students who are learning social skills such as communication and problem solving through purposeful play.
Thy love to build and create. They love to use their imagination to during pretend play.
My Project
I am asking for a variety of toys, magnets, beads and play items. These materials will be used during purposeful play time. My students love to build and are learning to work together. They would love to see items added to our purposeful play time. They will be growing their imagination, learning to cooperate and problem solve by playing with their classmates in their play groups.
My students will be growing their academic skills through play with the sight word games that would be provided with this project.
This project will provide pizza and fly swat sight word games. With these games, students will be growing their Snap Word Power and this will help our readers read their words in a snap during Reading Workshop time.
Perler Beads that will be provided with this project will support fine motor growth at our art station. An iron will also be provided so we are able to finish our Perler beads. After their creation is finished, students will have the opportunity to pay it forward and gift their creation to a friend, classmate or family member.
Our imaginations will grow with the dinosaur set and baby dolls/accessories that are provided. Students will also be learning problem solving and collaboration skills when they are learning to share and take turns with the materials.
The superhero dress up will also allow our imaginations to grow but also support our Super Readers unit. Students can dress up as heroes and save the world in our classroom but they can also dress up as Super Readers and read books to each other using their Super Reading Powers.
Students will build problem solving and building skills with magnetic tiles and building disks.
