This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The hardest aspect of being a teacher nowadays is the amount of differentiation we are required to do. In one class, we may have ELL students, gifted and talented students, students with disabilities, and students at different points in their academic career. This is the case for many of our classes with ELL and long-term ELL students. These students are often tasked with taking multiple core courses at once in order graduate on time. The difficulty with this is providing multiple resources and pathways for the students to master the content.

Help give my students more resources to give them different options for mastering the content.

A digital certificate for Teachers Pay Teachers gives me access to a variety of reviewed, self-paced educational content that I can use to supplement my classes, offering specialized materials for different students including different levels of ELL, SPED, and gifted and talented. For example, I am teaching a World History 2 class this summer. I would like to offer extension activities at a variety of levels. But I don't have enough time to write the curriculum myself.

Why reinvent the wheel? This summer, I will be teaching history, English, and science credit recovery for ELL students. I want to be able to provide the best, most individualized experience for each student. More resources will allow me to do just that!
