My Project

My students are an amazing group of young people. They are funny, creative, and hard-working, always ready to dig into new and fresh content. They deal with personal and systemic barriers every day, but persevere to try and be their best selves, both socially and academically. Literature Circles are a great way for students to build their academic skills, through analysis, discussion, and writing. One key element of Literature Circles is choosing the right type of books.

By funding this project, you will be helping my students gain access to dynamic titles in the dystopian genre that will aid them in learning more about the genre itself and build key reading and writing skills that will help them now and in the future.

I have chosen an array of books that are engaging and are also at different reading levels, so that all my students will be able to find a title that matches their interests and also their skill level. My goal is that students will finish this unit as stronger analytical readers, writers, speakers, and thinkers and these books will help them get there!
