Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students love learning through hands-on experiences and movement. They come to school eager to learn each day. It truly is amazing to see how far they come not only academically, but socially and emotionally over the course of the school year.
The passion my students have for learning inspires me to be the best teacher I can be for them.
Each day I leave school I feel like I've learned just as much as they have. Their unique perspective and drive to soak up as much as they can from their environment, challenges me to provide them with as many opportunities to grow and learn as I can! Early childhood is so much fun!
My Project
My students need blocks to help them practice their fine motor skills. Blocks provide many opportunities for children to practice predicting and experimenting.
My project includes people the children can use with their blocks from a variety of ethnic backgrounds and with various abilities.
These people will help spark conversations about how we can be friends even though we are all different and will build social and emotional skills.
Also included, are blocks to build a house and a simple machine set for science! These blocks will make a difference in my classroom as they provide children with opportunities for role playing!
