My students need Magna-Tiles and storage baskets to use for STEM centers. This will help my children develop their creative, engineering minds! We love building and creating new things!
My kindergarten students come to school eager and ready to learn despite the hardships they may face. These children deal with unimaginable challenges before their school day ever begins. Our school is very small, more than three-fourths of my students fall into the free/reduced lunch rate. Our entire school population receives free breakfast and lunch. Our community and students are faced with high unemployment rates, drug and substance abuse, low-income and limited resources. We have a food pantry to help our struggling families, and some students are given food bags to help them get through the weekend. All this in an effort to help our students be able to focus more in school and be successful in their learning.
To say that I am proud of my students is an understatement...I am constantly in awe of the resiliency and ability of each of my tiny miracles.
As that our school is comprised of so many socioeconomically disadvantaged, sensory impaired and special needs students, motivation and technology are crucial to learning. My kindergarten students are kind and compassionate children who are excited to learn and face new challenges.
My Project
Since Kindergarten is the first school experience for many of my students, I want it to be as pleasant and fun as possible. Blocks are a daily activity in my classroom, especially in math and centers. We build to create, expand our knowledge of shapes and develop our understanding of how the world around us is composed.
All children love to learn if the material is presented in a fun and exciting way.
My students need sensory appealing manipulatives to create a life long learning desire. By donating to this project you will be helping mold the engineers of tomorrow!
