That is how you say hello in Ojibwe. I teach first grade students in a school that is located on a Native American reservation. Most of my students come from generational poverty, which can bring trauma. Every year, I do my best to create a classroom family where each child feels safe, successful, and loved.
Whether they be fiction or non-fiction these books will help my students continue to practice skills taught in the classroom as well as build their love for reading!
One of my goals as a teacher is to help each child become a better reader, I am able to do this when I can provide my students with great books that are at their reading level. Right now, our classroom is in need of more books that are written for children who are in the very beginning stage of reading.
My classroom library is one of the most important part of my room.
It is where students come together to read and develop a love of reading. Students who excel at reading become more successful in life. Contributing to my classroom library will put my students on the path to success!
