My Project

My students are curious, energetic first graders who are developing the foundational math skills they’ll use for the rest of their lives. They are eager learners who thrive when given hands-on, engaging opportunities to explore math concepts. Many of my students learn best through interactive play, and I strive to provide materials that make learning both fun and meaningful.

Number Stax is a hands-on math resource that helps students develop number sense, place value understanding, and problem-solving skills in a playful and engaging way.

With these materials, my students will be able to stack, compare, and manipulate numbers while building a solid foundation for addition, subtraction, and early algebraic thinking.

Currently, we rely heavily on worksheets or limited manipulatives, which don’t always capture my students’ attention. Number Stax would allow me to transform math lessons into interactive experiences, making abstract concepts more concrete and accessible. Students will be able to work independently, in small groups, and during math centers to practice important skills while having fun.

By funding this project, you’ll help my students build confidence in math, strengthen their critical thinking, and develop a love for problem-solving that will support them throughout their academic journey.
