Building Motor Skills

My Students

I am the new Multiple Impaired special education teacher at this middle school. My caseload is 5 students who are with me 90% of the school day.

They all have varying disabilities that don't allow them to be full-time in general education classrooms.

My students have very high needs and need help with their basic hygiene and some eating.

I plan to have them included in at least one general education class to get them integrated into the school with more typical peers as they used to be in elementary school.

I am looking for things that the students can easily use in our classroom to work on independently as well as assist them in self-regulating strategies. My students each have a one-on-one who assists them throughout the day as well as myself.

My Project

These materials being items will increase my students understanding of what we are working on as they are able to move the pieces. My students have an easier time using 'toys' to learn. We are at a pre-k level academics in my middle school classroom.

my students are building better fine and gross motor skills, these help them with daily living tasks that we work on throughout our day in my classroom.

They like colorful materials and also things that makes noises. Toy looking materials are better for us to work with.
