My Project
Reading opens the doors to so many adventures, ideas, and opportunities. For so many students, literature offers everything: escapism, validation, expansion, and more.
As a new teacher teaching in high-poverty school in a high-poverty district, it is my goal to bridge any gaps between my students and their access to thought-provoking and engaging books.
With your donation, I can bring in items to my classroom that tell my students that they are worth it.
Dry erase markers, coloring books, snacks, and new books contribute to a positive atmosphere, ensure my students have a safe but challenging learning environment, and help students rise to the occasion, even on the toughest of days.
While I do not have the means to address all the issues facing my school, with your generosity, at least I can try to show my students that they are valued every day when they walk into my classroom. Despite how I spread my support and care, my hands alone will never be wide enough to catch everything I want and need for my students. Your generosity, support, and belief in the importance of education is deeply appreciated.
