My Students

Remember how much fun you had building and creating with blocks? Despite new technology, giving students the time and tools to build and create is just as important as ever (if not even more important).

We are a diverse Title I school, with students of many cultures, languages, and gifts.

Despite many social and economic barriers, our students love to learn, build, and create. For many of our students, English is not their first language. Hands-on activities are extremely important for their learning.

My Project

All students love to build and create. More than just fun, hands-on activities are so important for student development. We are asking for a number of different building materials kits that would allow students to become engineers!

Using these materials, we would create different challenges that students would work as a team to complete.

These challenges promote problem solving, teamwork, and fun.

Students who engage in building activities develop spatial awareness, cause/effect relationships, and motor skills. As students get older, opportunities to build decreases, but the need to engaged in hands-on activities is just as important. We want to unlock the architect in all our students!
