This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a self-contained 4th-grade class at a public school, Preschool through 6th grade, of approximately 600 students. Many of the children have been in attendance at the school since they were toddlers. Students view the school as their second home.

I have the most beautiful, interesting, and talented children in my classroom.

They come to school every day ready to learn and to take on challenges. My students' interests include engaging in hands-on activities that are thought-provoking and fun. They enjoy everything technology-related and "outside of the box" projects. They always strive to do well at the school and community they've grown up in.

My Project

We currently do not have a PE teacher at our school and have not had one for the past three years. I would like to provide my students with some exposure to physical education and traditional games that is fun and allow them to move and be sporty at school. Your donation will provide the necessary materials for me to teach my class games that help them build good sportsmanship and teamwork. Games include classics like basketball and soccer. Newer games includes but not limited to Tic Tac Toe PE Style, Doctor Doctor, and Snake. First, activities will start with relay practices where each student gets to practice the skill (dribbling, passing, scoring). Secondly, introduction to games will follow after students have had exposure fo the basics. Physical education is an important subject that I don't want my students to miss out on. There are a lot of benefits to PE included physical and cognitive growth. It is also a great way for students to work together in teams and build sportsmanship.
