Building Language Skills Through Play in PreK

Help me give my students the tools needed to build language and communication skills. Retelling stories through puppets allows students to act out human conflicts and relationships. The STEM kits allow kids to practice perseverance through creative teamwork.

My Project

This project will allow my students to practice their language skills through retelling familiar stories. My PreK students come to me speaking English at all different levels. These resources will be used in whole group read-alouds, small group literacy lessons, and independent center play times.

Through puppet and STEM play with their peers they will be able to practice their English language skills in a safe joyful environment.

They will take risks using familiar language to act out conflicts and relationships the familiar characters encounter.

Some of my students come to me speaking very little English. When you fund this project you will be giving them resources to practice those new language skills through play.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
