Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 3rd graders attend school in a low-income, diverse, and urban environment. There is a large ELL population and I have 7 special education students in my classroom with a variety of disabilities.

They are such a special and hardworking group of students who come to school every day with a positive attitude and a love of learning, despite the challenges they may face outside of school.

As the year goes on, I want my students to always feel comfortable, motivated and challenged to strive to do their best in all areas of school. These students have big dreams for their future and my goal is to always give them the resources to make them believe that they can achieve all of their goals.

My Project

These hands-on manipulative such as hot dots, higher-numbered dice and comprehension learning cubes will help my students become more independent during literacy and math centers and give themselves the opportunity to challenge themselves.

As I've gotten to know my students throughout this year, I've learned that some students can benefit from flexible seating to keep them moving while they're learning.

These wobble seats will be a big help to my students who need more movement.

Some other classroom essentials, such as a bell for transitions, chalkboard cleaner, dry erase markers, and a pencil sharpener would make a tremendous difference in our day to day classroom environment.
