My Project

My students are in an immersion pathway. Learning two languages isn't always easy, but my students are enthusiastic and eager to come to school every day to learn. My students’ language skills are varied. We need more bilingual books in the classroom for my students to access. The books can be read to the students or they can read them independently. We would love to provide them the opportunity to grow and strengthen their literacy skills.

The sand trays will allow my students to practice writing high frequency words and grade level vocabulary, so that they can construct sentences and paragraphs independently.

The books are fun to read, and they can increase students’ interest in reading a variety of books. Reading aloud to students is an important part of our day in learning a language. With these books, students can learn to read and write. The sand trays are the additional tools that students can use to practice writing words. They can definitely help those students who are kinesthetic learners. With your support, we can provide additional tools for our students to succeed in learning another language.
