Building Future-Ready Leaders: Robotics for Our Student Tech Team

Help me give my students on our tech team hands-on coding and robotics tools so they can create, problem-solve, and lead tech projects at our school.

My Project

For the past two years, our school has proudly run a Student Tech Team, where students take on leadership roles to support technology across our campus. As a flagship school for Apple technology in our district & recently recommended for Apple Distinguished School recognition—we are committed to empowering students through innovative, real-world technology experiences.Our students have already earned recognition from district technology leaders by showcasing their skills at multiple community events, where they demonstrated their learning and engaged in meaningful conversations about technology.

As a result, they were given the opportunity to use district Dash robotics kits for two months, where their curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving skills truly came to life.During this time, students quickly learned coding concepts, collaborated on projects, and created videos to teach and inspire others across our school.

When the robotics kits were returned, both the students and I deeply felt the loss—not just of the tools, but of the excitement and hands-on learning they made possible.

Having our own Dash robotics kits will give our Student Tech Team year-round access to meaningful coding experiences. Students will design projects, explore STEM concepts, and grow as leaders by demonstrating robotics in other classrooms and mentoring younger students. Through these opportunities, they will build confidence, communication skills, and a passion for innovation—helping to create a lasting impact across our entire school community.
