My Students

My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. They are very bright and eager to learn. My students come from a low income based area. We are considered a Title 1 school. Therefore, we are a low-income school that strives to enhance the learning abilities of all students.

Reading fluency is a common strategy many students need to continue to practice.

Reading takes practice. With book mark timers, students will be able to continue to practice their fluency. These bookmarks have timers on them that help them stop and read a passage within an specified amount of time. Practice

My Project

When students are fluent in their reading, they are able to read silently and begin to enjoy the text. It is also important because they understand their reading and are able to decode the words with ease.

Students that do not read with fluency give their focus and attention to being able to read the words and quickly lose the ability to comprehend what they are reading.

This is where fluency becomes a helpful skill with reading. It is important to build confident and enthusiastic readers.
