I have 48 amazing, eager, and caring students in the kindergarten classroom with my teaching partner. They come to school every day with an excitement for learning!
I teach at a Title I school which means that a majority of my students are considered high poverty and many are second language learners.
My school embraces innovative ways to personalize learning for all of our students. Our administrator supports anything that benefits our students and their ability to make growth both academically and socially.
My Project
Kindergartners learn best by using engaging, hands-on materials.
They love working together to solve problems, count, and represent numbers.
I am requesting Lakeshore math instant learning centers. These are hands-on math centers that will help to reinforce number sense, which is an important part of financial literacy. Students will use these centers to identify numbers and count matching quantities. They will also work with five frames and ten frames, which will help them as they learn how to count nickels and dimes.
Financial literacy is an important skill to introduce to young students. Practicing number sense in a fun and hands-on way will build a solid foundation for these students.
