I have a great group of students. My students spend time with me and with another third grade teacher. Between our two classes, we have several students who come from split family homes as well as students who are in foster care or no longer live with biological parents. All of my students are super sweet and want to do anything to please us. They work hard and try their best. Giving them the opportunity to have a place to express themselves is an important part of my day.
Technology is a huge part of our day.
We spend a lot of our day working on computers. However, it is still important that students are being exposed to tasks and activities that do not happen on a computer.
So many children need different types of instruction and motivation and a chance to explore and strengthen their minds. Small group instruction is a way to meet all students' needs as well as technology. This "new" addition to education is a big but great change.
My Project
These materials would be such a treat for my students. I have a few STEAM boxes currently that my students love. However, I would like to get more so more students are able to be creating with different ones.
With this project not only will it allow my students to build and be creative, but it will also introduce them and show them places in the world that they may never be able to go to.
When building place in New York, the students will be able to step into the scenery of New York and see what others are seeing on a daily basis. Not to mention the one where they would build London.
All of these sets will allow students to use their imagination, use their brain, and use their skills to build, create, and "go" to far away places!
