My Students
Bright, excited, and very tech savvy - this is how I would describe my Project Lead the Way students this year! They are an awesome bunch; ready to take on all the exciting challenges of our Project Based Learning STEAM school.
Our school serves students in grades 6-8; we strive to instill Respect, Empathy, Ambition, and Leadership in all of our students on a daily basis.
Approximately 90% of our students participate in the free/reduced price lunch program and, outside of my classroom, may not have the resources or opportunity to be a part of robotics and engineering centered activities.
My Project
My students need various KEVA products to increase STEAM engagement in my classroom. They will use the products to build robotics mazes, various three dimensional structures, and contraptions with the sets that I have requested. All of these activities will be created in small group, cooperative learning settings that encourage active participation and effective communication among the group members.
The KEVA products will help promote learning, creativity, communication, and critical thinking skills in my unique blended traditional/special needs robotics class(es).
With these products I can continue to help my students develop the 21st century skills they need for their futures.
