Our community school is very diverse where many backgrounds and languages are represented. For most of our students, English is not the primary language. As a result, my students face challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the challenges they face on an everyday basis, I am always looking to provide my students with meaningful learning experiences.
My students show up to school excited and ready to learn!
It is my goal to help my students not only reach the next reading level, but to keep my students motivated to learn.
Since I am teaching reading to the entire 5th grade this year, I am always looking for ways to motivate my students. We currently have a classroom microphone so our voices can be heard, but now we a need stage so we can be seen when presenting!
This stage will be a game changer!
I want my students to feel comfortable in front of their peers to build up their confidence and self-esteem and the stage will do just that! The stage will help my students speak in front of our class to share their amazing work and talent. In our next unit in reading, my students will be creating and then performing their own Reader's Theater based on Esperanza Rising. This amazing stage will allow my students to present their Reader's Theater to our class and even parents! An added bonus is that this stage lifts up for storage! Please help us add this amazing piece of furniture to our classroom.
