My students need Chromebooks to collect research for their Genius Hour projects, practice their math facts on Reflex Math, participate in digital labs and virtual field trips, and so much more.
My 4th grade students need Chromebooks to keep them engaged in 21st century learning and to enhance their learning with choice! My classroom this year is made up of a beautiful blend of students from different backgrounds, experiences, learning styles, and learning needs. They already have multiple choices throughout the day, to include where they sit an what they are sitting on in our flexible classroom and I would like to increase their choice in their learning.
Having 20 students with such differing needs can make learning challenging for them, but they rise to the challenge and put their pride on the line each day.
Giving student the opportunity to be independent and feel successful is what grows strong students...not test scores.
My Project
Self-confidence and abilities will grow in students as their access and experience with real-life technology applications increases. My school is fortunate to have a computer lab, but sharing it with 17 classrooms can make it difficult to find open time to visit the lab. While I believe in teaching my students patience and the importance of waiting their turn, I also believe that stifling learning because they cannot access material is not a choice. These Chromebooks will allow students to access technology and new learning, they will conduct research and reach the curriculum by furthering their learning and reviewing past concepts. We are forever grateful for your support!
