Your donation was able to help fund getting the game of Chess into every 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classroom at our elementary school. When the games were delivered to the classrooms the students were excited and ready to start playing right away. \r\n\r\nMy bigger take-away from this project is that Chess will continue to be available in these classrooms for years to come. As students come and go at our school they will always have the option to play Chess in their classrooms with their peers. Yesterday, I walked through some 3rd grade classrooms during recess and all 3 games were out on desks and being played. Kids were heard talking about strategy and planning for their next moves. \r\n\r\nYour donation to our project is appreciated and your dedication to supporting our students is unmatched. Thank you again and enjoy your summer months.","fullyFundedDate":1742944449077,"projectUrl":"project/chess-in-the-classroom/9152935/","projectTitle":"Chess in the Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kidwell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2558464_orig.jpg?crop=343,344,x0,y56&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1651177378417","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/kindergartenchicks"},{"teacherId":3062248,"projectId":9206257,"letterContent":"If you were a fly on the wall of our classroom you would have heard the squeals of excitement when both classes realized how many new, hands-on, math materials had arrived and were ready for use! In the last month we have been using them and realizing how powerful they are in showing our understanding, reviewing for our state assessment, and bridging gaps between what we know and what we are still learning.\r\n\r\nThe most beneficial items at this point in the year so far have been the different types of white boards! Students immediately used the multiplication and division boards for our second unit of long division with remainders and multi-digit but multi-digit multiplication. Currently, the number line and fraction boards are helping us review complex concepts for our state assessment that is around the corner.\r\n\r\nAfter our assessment, students will be creating math games. All of these resources will be available to them to aid in the creation, and play, of their games!\r\n\r\nThank you for bringing tangible math resources into our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1742926907639,"projectUrl":"project/interactive-math-to-increase-understandi/9206257/","projectTitle":"Interactive Math to Increase Understanding","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Emerson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3062248_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1533244348125","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/carol-emerson"},{"teacherId":4449999,"projectId":9107526,"letterContent":"My class and I are grateful for your support in helping us to obtain tri-fold boards for our project expo. The students were excited when they came into the classroom and saw the large boxes containing the boards. They could hardly wait to get started using them to share the stories of their projects. \r\n\r\nOver the years, tri-fold boards have become more costly and the sources that I once used are no longer available. I am so thankful for your support in providing these materials for us so that we can put on a quality project expo and invite our classmates and parents to see the projects that we worked on this semester. Having students plan and create their displays helps them to increase their communication skills because they have to decide how to capture in words and images the journey that they took to complete their projects.\r\n\r\nOnce again, our entire class is appreciative of your generosity and support for our learning.
