My Project

Headphones are so important in my classroom. Students thrive through independent learning, choice, and being able to work at their own pace. When each student is watching a different video, however, the classroom can get a little noisy. My students use headphones to watch videos, interact with lesson materials, and utilize text-to-speech applications to boost comprehension. Many of them listen to activity instructions, read-aloud textbooks, or audiobooks to follow along for class and independent reading.

Watching students learn to love reading through access to audiobooks is truly inspiring.

Having the opportunity to listen to books and lessons not only builds confidence, but fosters independence and a discovery (or rediscovery) of reading for fun. Building these skills and confidence opens many doors to success, as well as a lifelong love of reading. My students will love getting to learn and read these
