This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Often times the children in the classroom seem stressed about things beyond our control. I find that if we chop veggies or fruit together the conversation about what is going on really flows. I have seen this take place when a stressed child sits down to color or build a puzzle with a friend. They naturally talk things out.

I want to give my young students books and actvities that help them access their parasympathetic nervous system and allows them organic opportunties to connect with themselves and others while engaged in a creative activity.
