Building Class Community Through Tie-Dye

Help me give my students and the entire 1st grade supplies to create class tie-dye shirts and tie-dye field trip bags.

My Project

Every year, the first-grade classes at our school tie-dye our class shirts. We all tie-dye, but each class uses different colors. This way, when we are on field trips or participating in school-wide events such as Field Day, we can spot first graders easily and locate our students. Students are so proud of what they create and love that it shows we are a class family.

We invite parents and family members to help us tie-dye our shirts, thus involving the community and making it a group effort.

Students are proud of their shirts, wearing them for many years to come!

This project includes all the materials we need to tie-dye once we purchase the shirts, along with HTV Heat Transfer paper for us to personalize the shirts with the teachers' name on the back. We will also purchase cotton drawstring bags to tie-dye, so we can take them with us on field trips and for other special activities.
