My Students

Our resilient scholars live and breathe the core values of our school. Their love for self and others is shown through respectful interactions. Their commitment to growth is seen through academic progress and small support groups with teachers. Service takes place, at school and in the community, by taking responsibility for their actions and making a positive impact in the lives of others.

Returning to in-person learning has been full of challenges and triumphs, and scholars continue to adjust to a new routine.

They express feelings of gratitude for their teachers and peers, while balancing assignments and new friendships. We are building our scholars to persevere and tackle every obstacle that comes their way.

My Project

As a newly founded middle school in D.C., we strive to provide a unique learning experience for our community. A huge part of our social and emotional learning model is to continue adding programming that is based on scholar interests.

In 2022, we plan to launch the Wells Wolves Network to broadcast school and local news on a bi-weekly basis.

Our 6th-8th grade scholars will collaborate to decide which topics are relevant and helpful for our school community. Scholars will work with staff mentors to learn the fundamentals of journalism and explore how their work can make a positive impact in the lives of others. Scholars will research, write, produce, edit and share, using the materials from this project.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
