Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
At the heart of our project lies the remarkable potential of our students and their journey toward empowerment and independence. What I love most about my students is their unwavering determination and their eagerness to learn and grow despite any challenges they may face.
The sugar packets, coffee cups, creamer, and other supplies we're seeking will form the backbone of our student-run coffee cart, a transformative initiative that will provide hands-on learning experiences and opportunities for personal growth.
Through the operation of the coffee cart, our students will not only learn practical skills such as customer service and inventory management but will also develop essential social and communication skills as they interact with their peers and community members. The act of creating their own signs for advertising adds another layer of learning, encouraging creativity, and fostering a sense of ownership and pride in their work. Engaging in conversations about the business will further enhance their understanding of entrepreneurship and instill valuable problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Our goals for this project extend far beyond the mere operation of a coffee cart. We aim to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential. By providing meaningful opportunities for hands-on learning and skill development, we hope to equip our students with the tools they need to succeed not only in the classroom but also in their future endeavors.
