My Project

In our Exceptional Children classroom, students learn best when they can actively engage with the materials in front of them. Many of my students require hands-on, visual, and interactive learning experiences to develop foundational math, literacy, communication, and problem-solving skills. Traditional worksheets alone do not always provide the support they need to fully grasp new concepts.

This project will provide a variety of math manipulatives, sensory learning tools, and engaging books that will make learning more accessible and meaningful.

Students will use linking cubes, counting activities, number bonds, sorting games, and interactive centers to build number sense, strengthen fine motor skills, and develop confidence in mathematics. The light table center will offer exciting sensory learning opportunities that encourage exploration and discovery.

In addition to math resources, this project includes a diverse collection of high-interest books and literacy materials that will help foster a love of reading. Through familiar authors and beloved story characters, students will strengthen listening comprehension, vocabulary, communication, and early literacy skills. Reading pouches will allow students to safely organize and enjoy books both at school and during independent reading time.

By providing these hands-on learning tools and engaging literacy resources, we can create a classroom environment where every student feels successful, supported, and excited to learn. These materials will help build strong academic foundations while encouraging curiosity, independence, and lifelong learning.
