Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

What I love most about my students is their curiosity, resilience, and joy for learning. They come to school each day eager to grow, ask questions, and try new things, even when learning is challenging. In our dual language classroom, students work hard to build academic skills in two languages while continuing to develop language proficiency. Their determination and kindness make them truly special.

I teach at a Title I school, and my partner teacher and I share 45 students across our two classrooms.

Together, we support a wide range of learning needs and language levels, which makes individualized instruction essential but difficult to provide consistently.

My goal for this project is to increase student engagement, independence, and growth in reading and math while supporting bilingual development. I want every student to have equitable access to meaningful learning tools that help them succeed.

The iPads in this project will make a significant difference in student learning. They will allow students to practice reading and math skills at their own pace, receive immediate feedback, and engage in interactive programs that reinforce classroom instruction. In our dual language setting, the iPads will also support students in building vocabulary and comprehension in both English and Spanish through visual and auditory supports. This will help students better access grade-level content while strengthening their bilingual skills.

Each iPad will include a protective case to ensure it is safe, durable, and able to withstand daily classroom use. This will allow students to confidently use the devices as part of their learning routine.

Overall, these iPads will increase engagement, support differentiation, and help students become more independent learners who feel confident and successful every day.
