Help me give my students a welcoming, well-equipped classroom full of age-appropriate materials that spark curiosity, build confidence, and support early learning.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Kindergarten is a magical year, full of firsts: the first time holding a pencil, writing their name, or reading a book with joy. But it also requires a very different set of tools than I’ve needed in the past. Because I’m transitioning from an older grade, I’m starting fresh with very few of the age-appropriate materials my young learners need.
The resources I’m requesting—bilingual books, hands-on learning tools, classroom supplies, and supports for language development—will help build a welcoming, engaging environment where my students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
With your support, I can ensure my kinders have everything they need to feel confident, capable, and excited to learn in two languages. One special item I’m requesting is the Fujifilm Instax Mini 12 Instant Camera, along with the MiniMate Accessory Bundle, film pack, and a Flamingo Designer Photo Album. This camera will allow me to capture meaningful moments throughout the year—from the first day of school to classroom celebrations, learning milestones, and social-emotional growth.
Photos will be used to build a strong sense of community, identity, and pride. Students will see themselves represented in classroom displays, bilingual word walls, family connection projects, and our “We Are Kindergarten!” memory album. These visuals are especially powerful in a dual language setting, where students thrive on routines, visuals, and real-life context as they develop both languages.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
