I get to work with the best students in our school. I teach transitional kindergarten which makes my students the youngest students to enter our school gate every morning. You would be amazed at how much these young minds can apply themselves to learning.
The fact that they can manage to absorb a full 6 hours of learning at such a young age is what makes them special!
Let me also mention how cute they are at this age :)
In addition, as members of a low-income school district, my students face several challenges both in and out of the classroom. I grew up in a similar situation and it is my mission to provide them with creative and meaningful learning experiences, so that they too can have a successful future.
The materials requested will allow the students an opportunity to explore science and math concepts in a group setting. In addition, students will practice social skills by sharing, taking turns, and demonstrating responsibility. During our exploration and experimentation class time, students will be engaged in hands on activities as they move around different stations in our classroom. Specifically, students will review math concepts such as modeling, recognizing, writing, counting and ordering numbers to 20. Other students will become young engineers as they work in a building station where they will be able to construct buildings, vehicles, and bridges using.
What I love about this Design and Build Kit is the opportunity for the kiddos to develop their fine motor skills and their imagination as they create new designs.
Students will also have the opportunity to review the alphabet and numbers by using their nameplates. My TK students are at an age where they are eager to explore and experiment, these materials provide the ideal opportunities to do so. I believe that a classroom environment that allows students to explore concepts creates lifelong learner. I’m excited to witness these big minds in action.
