Building a Rainbow

My Project

Students love to create! The colored construction paper will be used to enhance fine motor skills, make a correlation to stories that are read and to build pride in their ability to construct a finished product. Kindergarten allows students the opportunity to make a craft that they might not have at home. Many students do not have materials at home nor do their working parents have the time to gather items to allow their child to explore cutting, glueing and creating art. Art helps build the correlation between stories and real-life experiences. Learning about flowers can be fostered by designing their own "paper gardens." Using green paper to make the stems, leaves, and grass; brown paper for the roots and soil; vibrant colors for the blossoms.
