Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are such an amazing group of little learners! They are curious, kind, and so much fun to be with as they explore the wonderful world of second grade. Their smiles and laughter make me the luckiest teacher ever!

I feel so incredibly lucky and thankful to spend my first year teaching with my amazing group of 2nd graders!

Each student in my classroom absolutely loves learning and books! For many of my students, gathering together as a community on our classroom rug for our morning meetings, story-time, and group projects is their favorite part of the day!

My students love to give hugs, high fives, and excitedly share their stories and learning with one another and me! They are kind to one another, with everyone being friends who love to work with one another and play together during recess.

I work at a Title I-funded school where all of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students have unlimited potential, and I work as hard as I can to give them the education they deserve!

My Project

As a first-year teacher, I am so excited to set up my classroom! My project is for books to inspire my 2nd grade students to be kind to one another.

My dream is to have a classroom library full of engaging books to inspire a new generation of readers!

For many of my students, reading time is their favorite part of the day! I love reading, and I hope to give my students positive experiences with books to support a love of reading and learning!

The books in my project highlight characters showing positive social-emotional skills with an emphasis on being kind!

Young learners are often inspired by beloved characters in books. Plus, these books are perfect as leading into conversations on what it means to be kind to others and how to be a good friend.

My project also includes storage containers to keep our books neat and organized.
