Building a Future for Technical Theatre

My Students

My students are masters of all trades. As Theatre students, they slip into the roles and lives of others on a daily basis. This builds empathy, perspective, teamwork and a whole host of other "soft" skills that they will use throughout their lives.

I also have another set of theatre students who are creative and inventive like the others, but they are also mathematicians and carpenters.

These students build our sets, run the tech, and bring other worlds to life. These imaginative and resourceful students deserve more than I can currently give them. Any aid you can supply would truly make a difference.

My Project

We are requesting five quality cordless drills that will serve hundreds, if not thousands of students in the years to come.

Each year my technical theatre students build the worlds our plays and musicals live in, bringing them to life in a way that could never be done without them.

These students use math and science skills, as well as new knowledge of power tools (like these drills) to turn rough lumber into sets.

The drills we have now are dying, we are only able to use two at a time because they are old, and the batteries can no longer be replaced. Having this new set of drills would make a world of difference. I have upwards of 40 students per class, two low functioning drills really don't cut it.
