Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Helping students to learn how to read is not only my job but my passion. Aftering being trained in BUILD, a reading intervention program for our Kinder and First grade students, I want to make sure I have everything I need to run the program successfully. I have requested books that will help with the comprehension lessons that are embedded throughout the curriculum to begin to help students understand how to break down what they have read.

Early intervention for students with reading difficulties is essential to getting them on the road to being successful readers.

Not only teaching students how to read but also teaching them how to apply those skills into spelling, gives our students the educational experience they deserve. The cardstock will be used to make the materials needed in order to make the lessons hands on with the use of pictures that will help in segmenting and manipulating sounds. The binder clips will help keep everything organized and the bins will help keep each groups materials separated. Finally the chapter books will allow these beginning readers to apply what they have learned and help them feel successful.
