This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember science experiments? How about counting everything in sight? I know I do! I can't wait to instill the same love for math and science in my students that I have!

In an urban school district, Pre-K is offered to students in a low-economic neighborhood.

These students don't have the resources to build a great foundation for learning at home, so it all needs to come from school! I know they're so excited to start their first year in school. Let's help them start off with fun and hands-on math and science!

My Project

These Lakeshore Learning centers will provide engaging activities with real world applications - something they really need at this age! The Tactile Numbers Match-Ups will help those students who need multi-sensory reinforcement to learn their numbers to 20. The Shape Sorting Center provides real world objects to practice sorting by shape! The Number Sequencing Puzzles give the students practice to sequence their numbers while also giving them a way to self check their work with a picture puzzle. The Early Math Activity Center gives the students many ways to sort objects by size, color, patterns, and shapes. The science centers - the Real Bugs Discovery Kit and the Stack & Match Magnet Rings allows students to get up close and personal with BUGS and discover the world of magnets!

This will be my first year in Pre-K, and there aren't a lot of resources - especially for math and science!

I'm so excited to move into this grade level so I can instill love for learning in as many students as possible!
