My students are 4-5 years of age. My students are all on the autism spectrum and non-verbal, but we do not let that stop us. Our school is a title 1 school and our students come from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Our classroom was a brand new classroom created last school year for preschool aged autistic children. Our classroom still feels empty and I would love to see it fill up and watch my students grow!
Help me build a foundation for these students.
My Project
Our classroom is a brand new classroom that was formed last school year for preschool students with autism. Our classroom was created with very limited items. I am trying to finishing filling our classroom with items we need to have it fully functioning.
Preschool aged students learn through play.
Play is how children learn social skills. My students have autism so it is very important that they play and develop social skills just like any other preschooler. Help me build them a foundation against autism!
We have a table toy/math manipulatives center that needs a small table so the students can spread out their manipulatives for activities like color/shape sorting. We also have a block center that needs a cabinet for sorting out and storing the blocks. This helps the students to learn to clean up and put things away in the right place. We are also in need of a cabinet to start a science center.
