My Students

I teach third grade and my students are 8-9 years old. We opened up a brand new elementary school during a pandemic!

My students are hard workers and are very resilient.

They learn from their mistakes and work hard. I am amazed at how much my students can grow every single day! Third grade rocks!

My Project

In my classroom we start the day with the phrase, "I know I am loved and I can do hard things!". I would love a few books to help me teach life skills to students to help them navigate their feelings and give them tools to help them during these challenging times. I need a few supplies so that each student has their own materials so they aren't sharing supplies.

The materials I am requesting will help my students to feel uplifted and empowered as I try to create the best environment for to them to learn in spite of all the struggles we are facing.

I would love to have Cricut tools to help students with creative projects. Students would collaborate together on projects and come up with a plan to execute their project. We will focus on creating projects that focus on life skills, motivational phrases and exploring different ways to show what we are learning in different content areas during this challenging time.

The heat press will allow us to design t-shirts as a class to represent our class as a whole as well as represent individual students. This will allow students to feel valued, empowered, accepted and confident. Students' self esteem has been negatively impacted because of the pandemic and this project will help uplift them and remind them of their resilience. It will also help create a positive classroom environment where students are collaborating together and being celebrated for their unique traits.

I have some flexible seating choices but need a few more options so all students have a safe and distanced space to learn in a way that helps them best. I know each addition to our classroom will help students during these trying times not only this year but in years to come.
