Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students are energetic and excited about learning! We are a community school and have a wonderful and nurturing community of educators, learners and parents. Students and faculty come from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds and we take great pride in coming together as one cohesive unit focused on making the world a better place. We embrace our differences and celebrate each other.
Our kids value inclusion, kindness, knowledge, and awareness.
They understand that these are the attributes of a better community and make the world a better place.
My Project
These iPads will be incredibly useful to access books during small group learning sessions. Our students love to read and they're going fast through our small classroom library. When we have our iPads, we can utilize electronic data bases and use licenses from already existing reading programs. Students will be able to read books on demand from a variety of topics, at their reading level! Students can read independently or in a small group setting.
We can use technology help support and foster our students love of reading.
The comprehension reading games for our older students are great tools to help support building vocabulary, comprehension and social skills. Students play engaging skills focused games and have fun learning! This is such a great activity in building up rapport and a joyful classroom culture.
Our headphones are great to support reading sessions, we are creating a library of audio books, and these will help in supporting our year long project. Students can hear books read by themselves and peers!
