Help me give my students a learning environment where they can build a community that allows them to grow emotionally and socially. Active seating can help reduce stress.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are an amazing mix of urban students. There are many ethnicities, languages, religions, and family structures that make a rich community of learners. Our school has worked hard to create and maintain a safe environment, where students have tools to help them navigate social interactions and internal conflicts, where students with trauma find love and support, and where families feel empowered to engage in their children's education and classroom.
The community I work with has so many strengths, viewpoints, and experiences.
It is my obligation to support them continuing their learning and understanding of the world.
My Project
Many of the classrooms at my school have wobble chairs for students and the teachers have found that the flexible seating can greatly reduce the stress of the students by allowing them to move.
Playing games requires many social skills and working together to achieve a common goal.
Having a foundation of positive community through game play will give my students an opportunity to build their relationships with each other, creating a safe learning environment and a positive working relationship.
Allowing students to have positive and fun interactions with each other outside of academics will give them a strong sense of community in which to learn, make mistakes, take risks and succeed.
