Building a Classy Classroom Community

My Project

First-grade students are eager to learn and thrive in a classroom environment that is organized, accessible, and functional. All items requested in this project promote a strong classroom community where students feel invested in their space.

We are in need of materials to build our classroom community.

Students will use the drawers as individualized mailboxes. This will provide students with a space where they can store their items and complete work. The large magnetic board is adjustable and can be easily utilized by my first-grade students during centers and whole-group instruction. We continue to go through boxes and boxes of crayons. The crayon sharpener will allow students to reuse their crayons for longer periods of time.

If given these materials, my students will be beyond excited. They will finally have their own space to store materials and a functional sharpener. Students will gain confidence and become more independent if given these materials.
