My Project

The students in my class are inquisitive and eager learners who are ready to take on the world. They are excited to come to school each day to see their classmates and teachers, and to learn something new. Reading is just one of the ways my students engage in their learning. I'd love to give them some new books to help develop their love of reading.

The arrival of new books is always exciting.

We look at the covers, read the blurbs on the back, highlight some of the pages, and have a book celebration to welcome the new books to our classroom library.

When kids have engaging books to read, it's easy to transition to independent reading time, because they can't wait to dive into their text. Research shows that the more time kids spend reading, the better readers they become and their vocabulary increases. With your help, we'll have exciting, new books to add to our classroom library that won't only develop or passion for reading, but will also help us develop our reading skills.
