Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Special education students, they work hard every day to develop academic, social, emotional, and self-regulation skills. Many of them experience sensory sensitivities, anxiety, or emotional challenges that can make it difficult to remain focused and engaged throughout the school day.

A calming corner would provide a safe, supportive space where students can take a break, regulate their emotions, and practice coping strategies when they become overwhelmed.

The sensory tools, comfortable seating, visual supports, and calming resources in this space will help students manage big feelings, reduce stress, and return to learning ready to succeed.

By creating a calming corner in our classroom, we will foster a positive and inclusive environment where every student feels safe, valued, and supported. These resources will help students build independence, improve self-regulation skills, and increase their ability to participate meaningfully in classroom activities. Your support will make a lasting difference in the daily lives of our students and help them reach their full potential.
